Frequently Asked Questions
The Bravado shoe is made in China.
Gloves . The primary differences between latex and nitrile are as follows:
- Latex is made from the natural milky sap found in the rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis.
- Nitrile is synthetic tri-polymer that displays similar characteristics to rubber once it has been vulcanised ( a process where the latex film is heated, and the combination of sulphur, accelerator and heat cause cross-linking of the rubber, giving strength and elasticity to the film).
- Nitrile also has no natural rubber proteins and therefore eliminates the well-documented protein risks associated with natural rubber latex.
- Vinyl is a synthetic non- biodegradable protein free material used to manufacture vinyl gloves. Polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers are used to make vinyl gloves. Vinyl gloves are best used as a cheap glove material for handling non-hazardous materials and chemicals
Nitrile rubber is a synthetic material whereas natural rubber comes from the sap of the rubber tree, Hevea Brasiliensis. Both materials offer protection against chemicals but very importantly, not all natural rubber or nitrile gloves offer the same level of protection.
